Four Poems for Children

Four poems for children by Christian Morgenstern are enriched with pictures, where figures can be hidden and moved by hand. A small difference compared to usual picture books, but a great importance for children to have the experience of movable pictures. The “frozen” picture can become alive. Out of the blue comes an elephant or a dog or crows or three sparrows. Moving figures enliven children's imagination, strengthen their self-initiative and stimulate their lively thinking. Language: English

Christian Morgenstern (1871 - 1914) was a German author and poet from Munich. He worked for a while as a journalist in Berlin, but spent much of his life traveling through Germany, Switzerland, and Italy, primarily in a vain attempt to recover his health. His travels, though they failed to restore him to health, allowed him to meet many of the foremost literary and philosophical figures of his time in central Europe

Davorin Peršic (1977) was born in a small town in Slovenia. He studied philosophy and became a Waldorf teacher in 2003. He is a teacher and a leader of a small Waldorf school Svobodna šola Kurešcek, founded in 2016. His pedagogical interest led him to a necessity, recognized by Rudolf Steiner: the development of pictures with movable figures for children.
